Tega Rooibos is harvested, processed and packaged on site at the farm in the Cedarberg Mountains. Here are some wonderful pictures of the farm where our Rooibos is processed.
The long process begins with sowing the Red Bush seeds in a fertile ground rich is minerals, which contribute to the healthy properties of tega Rooibos tea. The ground gets raked and the Rooibos seeds are planted in the grooves.
Once the bush is harvested, it gets cut to proper length by machines. Once it is cut, the Rooibos gets laid out on drying pads in the sun, where it will begin it’s fermenting process. The fermentation process is what gives the tea its red color and its flavour.
